so cold ….
1 commenttoday didn’t rain but i brought my umbrella everywhere like an idiot
i had the intention of going to the metropolitan museum of art today butttt guesss whattttt i got lost in the subway lol
what i normally do is find the address of somewhere i wanna go to, google map it, and it lays out all the stops for you so it’s easier than figuring out that shit yourself. i was supposed to take the no. 5 train somewhere but i stood on the no.6 platform for like 20 minutes wondering why it isn’t coming. so by the time i got to the no.5 platform it had already left…. so i took a random one bc i was like, they must pass by the same stops but of course it didnt
so i decided to just go to 5th avenue and look at all the expensive stuff
i bought a 30 day pass for $104
came home and realized that it was a metrocard in spanish

took a lot of photos while waiting for the “no.5″ train
while at fifth avenue, i couldn’t afford all the nice brands so i just went to Uniqlo… and spent a gazillion hours in there. it is definitely the nicest uniqlo i’ve ever been to. the osaka flagship isn’t as nice…..they spent a ton of money here i’m sure
the uniqlo x undercover collection is ON! and it was on special, as were the UT shirts, $9.90 for basically everything~~ i only bought a one piece shirt for my cousin. i tried on a gazillion things for the UxU but most didn’t look good on me

i didn’t buy enough stuff to get a big bag but i asked for it and the nice cashier gave me a hello kitty one
the one piece ones ran out
more tourist photos….

and of course the mandatory apple store photo! and i didn’t even go in by then i was just so exhausted because i bought a water bottle that was 1L … this isn’t vegas man

by then i was so hungry so i was looking for a restaurant. i wanted to go to a bistro of some sort and eat, maybe a bowl of soup and a deli sandwich but of course there were none in sight. i wasn’t ballin’ enough to get a steak somewhere good…
went to a burger joint, i mean it has burger in its name and yet i didnt order a burger…

got this, it was…ok
wandered some more and ended up at columbus circle and was across from central park… can i just say, my dream is to have an apartment that freaking over looks the park?

wandered around and ended up in time square….

also went to the giant ass forever 21…was too exhausted to actually shop.

other than the shit weather and the dickhead landlord new york is pretty good! everyone is so nice and the customer service is quite good, better than vancouver i’d say….
service is shit around where i’m living….typical asians
a shit video of time square…
stray observations:
people here are super nice.
i wanna try that chicken rice thingy i keep seeing in the food carts
whole foods is effing expensive
i havent found a dean & deluca yet but i’m sure it’s $$$ too
make sure to find the right platform before begin waiting for the subway
no tax on clothes (under x amount but what x is i dont know)
11 days!
8 commentsi’m leaving for new york in 11 days!
mixed bag of fear and excitement but right now it’s mostly fear.
i’ll probably be somewhere in Queens in a shady apartment complex that charged me way too much…actually i dont have a place to stay yet. T_T
i’m actually only going for a month, my ticket (cathay pacific) forces me to return by the 21st else they’ll charge me like a $400 fee or something.
anyways, i’ve only been there once before when I was about 13 and now that it’s 10 years later, lots must have changed and I don’t even remember what it was like the first time I was there.
I’ll be doing some internship hunting and a lot of eating and museum see-ing, probably some shopping as well!
if you have any suggestions on where to see, eat, let me know!!
do i have any new york friends? i’ll be super lonely and friendless, so let’s meet up (if possible!)
beijing – the front door
3 commentsthis place is called 前门 which literally translates to the front door. it’s a fantastic place to eat and shop, mostly with traditional very very ancient stores that sells tea pots, tea, hats, peking duck (ORIGINAL PEKING DUCK but it’s not the super duper expensive place, this is the less fancy but lunch-type place), shoes, scissors, and i think there’s a place that you can watch traditional comedy shows.
my aunt took us here but we got lost and these are the pics that i took while getting lost!

this guy is someone that stands outside the shops and attracts customers by relaying off rhymes with two half pieces of bamboo that creates a rhythm. the original beatboxer kkkz?
i rarely put stuff under the cut but this post is gonna be huggeeee so:
if you ever visit beijing this place is very tourist friendly, it’s very clean and it’s not super crowded so it’s not bad. it’s expensive though because the brands are very old and hence charge an arm and a leg for stuff but comparatively to european shops it’s really nothing. there is an amazing hat shop that charges about 500 RMB for a really good hat, less than $80 and the price varies too of course
but i think someone should give me a break because i came from one of the most rainiest cities in the WORLD to a city that’s not known for rain but it goddamn rains all day and it was soo cold

and it was pretty good. I don’t know the model of the plane that i was on last night but look at that wonderful thing with the green light. OMFG IT HAS A FREAKING OUtLET! in economy class~!!! that’s taking care of your people!
