finally left the rain that was Kinkakuji and we are headed towards Kawaramachi!

i bought a copy of If On a Winter Night’s A Traveler a while back and even further back I bought a copy of the Popular Penguin’s Picture of Dorian Gray. I don’t buy a huge amount of books but every once in a while I have this itch that needs to be scratched and i run to amazon and I buy at least 2 books.

The copy of Dorian gray was used but it is the orange cover…..and silly old me thinking i could buy a super old book for like $10. The other day I was reallly bored so I was looking through my bookshelves and I looked at the back cover of the copy of Dorian Gray and found that it was from the Australian branch of Penguins…and I started to search…

oh my god, they make these! Such reasonably priced books! They make these in Australia and apparently you can even get these at a local supermarket. I eyed with such envy but alas my search came to an end as I got a response from a book retailer saying they won’t ship outside of australia…

this is another series that i really really like but it’s too expensive to get a lot of it

A lot of these sets have overlapping titles and it drives me nuts….i’ll ultimately have to decide on a series that’ll fit the budget

Then I came across this mini set, it’s on amazon for $150 for 50 mini books which isn’t bad at all

i am itching to buy so many books right now but perhaps that’s not such a good idea… i’ll just..add them to cart first…

it feels like pokemon, like i’ll need to catch ‘em all or something..maybe

yes! one of the biggest tourist places in kyoto! Because we are tourists… anyways, you can buy an all day bus pass for 500 yen at the bus stop terminal place at kyoto station. it’s very useful because i hate having to figure out how much things “cost” on the bus or on the train, the local will surely swear at you!

the “ticket” for kinkakuji is 400 yen, i think most of the shrines don’t cost any money, some do, the expensive gold ones do. Also, get a bus map (english version available) at the kyoto tourism agency. IT IS USEFUL! get it.

so i’m watching the Simpsons again apparently
there was a small period of time that i laid it off from my TV calendar, there were too many things going on and i didn’t have time for my favorite five yellow people…but i feel like the quality has picked up since then.

also Neil Gaiman guest stars in this episode!

So it’s an episode of The simpons with a subject close to my heart, books! nope, book writing? nope…GETTING YOUR BOOK PUBLISHED

so many beautiful references in this episode that i weep, i weep tears for my unpublished novel…(which is getting a complete rewrite, 2500 words in so far)

check it,a small reference for The Magicians and The Magician King fans! Matt Selman is friends with Lev Grossman because they use to write on a Time blog (which is non-existent now) called Nerd World. I know this because i’m a creep…

GAH SO AWESOME…

similarly, this was what kept me reading 1Q84…its about a girl who couldn’t write but became a best seller due to a ghost writer….dammit these things are no good but i almost wished that it happened to me. Does that mean i’m starved for fame? Not exactly, but some recognition from this ‘world’ would be nice. it doesn’t need to be a best seller, it could be a job, any job…

i started doing these again!
you can also see one of my new walls! There will be a set of drawers there soon, i need it for my clothes but i also really don’t want it.

i enjoy doing these as i have to force myself to wear all the clothes that i don’t normally wear, as well i’ll be able to pull up pictures of outfits if i’m really uninspired by my closet ~
