烟袋斜街
7 commentswhich apparently translates to Slanted Tobacco Pipe Street (lulz..)
actually this is my grandma/pa’s house…! yes major old school, real beijing people! (pride..)
this is right after I arrived, major sleepiness, but not allowed to sleep because must eat lunch with grandpa, but majorly picked up my mood after eating some lamb skewers :D :D :D
“鼓楼” drum tower, when I was a kid it was open to public, now it’s too old so if too many people go in it’ll most likely collapse..
now we’re entering “烟袋斜街”
tons of cute cafes and bars ..
totally badass leather notebook store, everything is handmade including the shopping bags. of course i bought one…
busy being patriotic since it’s the National Holiday celebrating the formation of the country and whatnot..
was a wonton restaurant that I visited, apparently they shoot a lot of movies up here.. is what the owner said.
i wish my house door was like this… !

OOOH COOL *3* love these photos there’s so much red everywhere! so much color! takes me away from the constant grey skies .. haha
those notebooks are super cool and those cafes are cute! is that a bike with plants growing on it? awesome!
love your outfit too ;)
I don’t know how you manage to update your blog regularly even whilst traveling! i haven’t managed to at all! I love old school houses of different countries, it’s far more culturally representative than the new city city skyscrapers.
Oh my god, gorgeous photos – I want to visit so badly!! My aunt is from Hong Kong! I want her to take me so I don’t get horribly lost…
Ahhh! Everything looks just lovely, your photos really do it justice. I have a friend from Beijing who takes about home a lot but I always imagined it to be a little more modern like Shanghai but not so crazy but it’s so nice and calm. Looks like a really great city to live in~
Haha, I’m so glad to see you still blogging.
Awe-some photos. My favorite out of the bunch is the sixth photo down. You’re sitting on a ball-statue all creep-like, yet nobody seems to notice. Love it!
Love all the rustic buildings and rooftops!
This reminds me that I should learn Mandarin or Cantonese soon before China becomes the next superpower!
