shoes pt 1. lets converse
nothing interesting is happening to me, i’m too lazy to bring my camera to parties. not that you’d wanna see that anyway, drunk people playing mario kart, battling each other on smash bros when no one can even focus their eyes on the rapidly moving characters….
people that know me know i have a lot of shoes, yes, typical girl shit
i was looking through jakandjil.com ‘s MY FAVORITE THINGS , tommy ton photographs really well, that we know, but especially hard to photograph clothing, or many pieces of clothing well without a mannequin or on someone…
i’m not doing a my favorite things post, but i’ll be showing you my shoes!
also keep an eye out for lame puns in title..
current favorite pair: all black converse low, i think it goes with absolutely everything, and i have these weird days that i only want to wear shades, grey, black, and white..
most worn out pair: i’d have to say the brown pair that i got from gap kids (the pink pair is too) i think i got them for $13 a pair, they just kept going on sale, and no one could fit into them, (except for kids..) so i bought them! i brought the brown pair with me when i was working in japan, i washed dishes, so i wore rolled up dark denim and these, they’ve been through a lot. Such as, once, i was kicked out of my cousins apt in japan and it started to pour, like in a movie! i ran to a 7-11 and these shoes were filled up with water. it was also disadvantageous since they are so beat up you can’t really go into some stores with these, — APC…..
least worn out pair: the grey ones with the white vertical stripes, the rubber on these are extra heavy so it’s pretty uncomfortable to wear these, the fabric is lighter than the regular converse canvas so it’s just not convenient, i think i’ve worn these like twice.
i’ve been wearing the all black converse so often that i’ve been neglecting my jack purcells, i forgot how good they look, and for some reason these fray easily without much wear, which for me is a good thing 
i heard that Converse was bought out by Nike? And apparently their quality has gone down. I dont know if the converse i bought are before or after the buy out, the black ones are definitely after. I dont know what these people are talking about because my converses are built like tanks, they are so ridiculously strong… there are no rips or holes, the rubber parts are mutilating a bit due to friction and wear but STRONG AS A TANK!
i have had more converse, but my mom threw them out..

I love the brown high tops. I’d be tempted to lace them with dark gray laces to match the rubber.
I only have two pairs at the moment, one of which are mostly retired due to wear. I tried to replace them with some cheap Diesel sneakers but didn’t like them nearly as much. With only two pairs the answers to the questions are obvious.

I wear the black pair regularly. They’re the light acoustic ox model and I’ll be happy if they last until there’s snow on the ground. The brown pair got about 5 months of heavy wear before the I wore through the back of the heal all the way to the decorative stripe, and wore the sole on the ball of the foot clean through.

I still love them and am hoping to find something to patch the sole so I can continue to wear them occasionally.

Wow that’s an awesome collection! I wore my first pair of grey ones to death until someone stole them off my front doorstep (wtf right?!). And my next pair were all-black just like the ones you have, i think they’re due for being thrown out now… replaced them with high-top all black ones now. I also have a pair of blue ones that are in a gradient light to med blue… awesome effect.
The problem is, now my Dr Martens have replaced my Converses as my “everyday” shoes…

I have one pair and they’re black high tops and make my big feet look like peanuts so I never wear them. Also, it’s too hot here for closed shoes but wooow you have a lot of chucks o_o

I used to be all about the converses but have recently switched over to wearing vans. No doubt, my vans do not hold up as well as converses but I like the way my vans look on my feet better :3
I love your collection, but I can’t reason with paying $50-$60 for a new pair of converses when mine aren’t ripped up yet XD;;
