shoes pt 2. just doing it

i think its obvious what’s my favorite sneaker brand is (besides converse that is, i cant really think of them as ‘sneakers’ though, more like casual life style shoes). i posted a good read on PROP about Nike’s CEO Mark Parker.

most comfortable pair: this would have to be a tie between the nike 6.0 morgans (2nd row 1st pair) and the Nike Greco Supremes (1st row last pair). the morgans are skater shoes so it’s one giant pillow wrapped around your feet. I wore these to ‘mountain climb’… because i really had nothing else. The Grecos are actually indoor shoes for wrestling, but they are so comfortable too. Actually, everybody’s pretty good except for the dunks but i think it’s because they are so new.

least comfortable pair: nike dunks.. they are really new though, worn them like once in my wholeee life, well i’ve only had them for about 2 months

most precious pair: I GUESS i would say the nylon x nike bright freakin green hulk dunk highs. they are limited editions and i wore them to my drivers exam to distract the examiner, i think it worked. he passed me.

i have had pumas, adidas, vans and all that jazz (i love VANS it’s just i only have one pair and it doesnt really fit in any category) i keep coming back to nike. i know nike has done some bad things over the years, but they keep innovating, check out that article i linked to at the beginning of this post and you’ll see why i love them so muuucccch.

hey nike, can i have some free shoes now? kidding..

Horses

i’m not that superstitious, but it doesn’t hurt right?

i’m a dragon on the chinese zodiac, and supposedly i should buy a horse figurine and put it on my east side..to bring luck and prosperity, all the jade dragons in the world will be on your side.

i dont know if there are limitations on certain types of horse figurine but i think i’ll go buy Bullseye, from Toy Story 3, i can’t think of a better horse.

and my dear horse figurine, you know what i want this year, and i only want this one thing, i’ve been patient, please dont let me down.

COLOR ful chairs

every night i tell myself that i will go to sleep early and wake up early because people who work hard do that. but here i am, 2 am, and blogging.

i brought “my” new camera out and took some pics….! everything has been photoshopped and resized etc, but i do that with everything, you can’t really judge my pictures based on quality (because i think most cameras these days take fairly good pics) or color or a lot of technical things that i dont really know about. i mostly use my Lumix LX3, but i think this camera might grow on me simply because it’s SO light weight and easy to hide (e.g. going to concerts…)

I will review it though, for utility purposes, how easy to use is it? i actually bought it for my mom, well my dad paid for it, but i picked it out ..

i always joke about having a quarter-life crisis but it’s slowly becoming a reality. today i had one of those “what the fuck am i doing” moment annnndddd it didn’t go well. I was heading out from my appointment with my Korean Tutor and I started to feel ill…

not very ill, but this stuffy feeling in your chest…

when I feel like this, I always head to the place i always feel safe at, and lucky me, the library is right next door…(yes I always plan my panic attacks at strategic locales)

Today, the panic came faster than usual, and i couldn’t really sit at one place, or concentrate on a book… plus i have a sensitive stomach when it comes to coffee, and yes, i just had coffee.. things weren’t looking good then i remembered…

what helps me to calm down is concentrate on a simple activity, any simple activity will do..

the children’s portion of the library is in the basement, i know..what you’re thinking. WHAT? put our future in the basement? now this ain’t no ordinary basement, it’s not even a basement because it has sky to ceiling glass windows.. and an amazing ceiling decorated with dragons.. it’s amazing..

and then i found this room, this circular room (see my cool panoramic photo that didn’t really line up well) amazing, peaceful room with NATURAL LIGHT!!! . it was quiet, except for the girl play Arthur computer games in the next room, but she wasn’t really being loud. (How good is Arthur? one of my favorite kids shows) and I sat there, reading I spy books… then i got owned and decided to read something else.

Peace is everywhere if you could find it, well not everywhere, but it’s there.

Stay cool kids… (my hair cut looks really good in real life, this pic came out weird…damn not at all photogenic )

fixing this beast of a machine

my laptop has gone through a lot, this is its 3rd year of use. been a bit absent because i was busy reinstalling everything.

i also received my new camera in the mail, as well as a 1TB external harddrive. I’ll only feel safe formatting and reinstalling if i backed up all my musicc and moviesss!

This is my first external hard drive so i hope nothing too bad will happen…

This camera on the other hand, is for my mom but im gonna figure everything out before i hand it over to her. it’s very very light and compact, 12.1 megapixels with enough options. It’s only about $100 and in my opinion, one of the better designed compact economical cameras out there…!

will review it when the time comes.

shoes pt 1. lets converse

nothing interesting is happening to me, i’m too lazy to bring my camera to parties. not that you’d wanna see that anyway, drunk people playing mario kart, battling each other on smash bros when no one can even focus their eyes on the rapidly moving characters….

people that know me know i have a lot of shoes, yes, typical girl shit

i was looking through jakandjil.com ‘s MY FAVORITE THINGS , tommy ton photographs really well, that we know, but especially hard to photograph clothing, or many pieces of clothing well without a mannequin or on someone…

i’m not doing a my favorite things post, but i’ll be showing you my shoes!

also keep an eye out for lame puns in title..

current favorite pair: all black converse low, i think it goes with absolutely everything, and i have these weird days that i only want to wear shades, grey, black, and white..

most worn out pair: i’d have to say the brown pair that i got from gap kids (the pink pair is too) i think i got them for $13 a pair, they just kept going on sale, and no one could fit into them, (except for kids..) so i bought them! i brought the brown pair with me when i was working in japan, i washed dishes, so i wore rolled up dark denim and these, they’ve been through a lot. Such as, once, i was kicked out of my cousins apt in japan and it started to pour, like in a movie! i ran to a 7-11 and these shoes were filled up with water. it was also disadvantageous since they are so beat up you can’t really go into some stores with these, — APC…..

least worn out pair: the grey ones with the white vertical stripes, the rubber on these are extra heavy so it’s pretty uncomfortable to wear these, the fabric is lighter than the regular converse canvas so it’s just not convenient, i think i’ve worn these like twice.

i’ve been wearing the all black converse so often that i’ve been neglecting my jack purcells, i forgot how good they look, and for some reason these fray easily without much wear, which for me is a good thing

i heard that Converse was bought out by Nike? And apparently their quality has gone down. I dont know if the converse i bought are before or after the buy out, the black ones are definitely after. I dont know what these people are talking about because my converses are built like tanks, they are so ridiculously strong… there are no rips or holes, the rubber parts are mutilating a bit due to friction and wear but STRONG AS A TANK!

i have had more converse, but my mom threw them out..
yeah…

I NEED A DOLLAR!

title indicates the Aloe Blacc song, which happens to be the opening for “How to Make it in America” which coincidentally was called “entourage new york edition” (in my head, i dont know why it’s coincidentally, it’s not really a coincidence at all, they are both on HBO?)… yeah i like TV shows like that. I think I wrote this longgggg post about how it felt not legitimate because the main character just doesn’t have that ‘street vibe’. i think i never posted it because I was afraid I was wrong because i’m not that confident in my street culture 101. Its a good show though, check it out, i think it’s on HBO or something, or you can torrent it like everybody else in the world.

let me tell you a story about how inadequate i am about my knowledge of street culture, well this was before, a long time ago, when i just got into it, i said something like “nice color ways” on some forum about these air maxes and people totally killed me on that forum “those are infrareds, how can you say you know about supreme then you go and say that” something along this line, people were questioning my gender..so

yeahhh it’s not a good story. i quit that forum a long time ago, they ripped me apart too much, i have never felt more self-conscious in my life.

then i went to take my blood pressure at a drug store because all the cool people do it, also we have family history of hypertension or some shit like that. even though it says it’s normal, this is actually really high for me. someONE is making my blood pressure high, i think this someone knows who this someone is. actually probably not, this someone doesnt read my blog.

its 2 am, work tomorrow, all freaking day, so this will be scheduled to be posted during then, feels like i’m here when i’m totally not.

so i met this guy from twitter

i was thinking whether i should write about this here or not, ah what the heck, WHY NOT.

I usually try to keep the swearing to a minimum on this blog because i’d like people to think about me in a certain way, that is, not a girl that drinks all day and swears all night. Both of these things, I coincidentally do. So this is a warning about the up coming post that there will be swearing, and if this makes you uncomfortable, get the fuck out of here!!!

so, last night, i went and got drinks with Lev (his twitter, his blog)

now he’s like a REAL person, a real person with a real job and he’s kind of famous for writing a really cool book called The Magicians. I felt pretty nervous meeting him for the previously mentioned reasons. So nervous that I didn’t really eat anything but a sandwich after I saw Scott Pilgrim yesterday, oh yeah I saw Scott Pilgrim yesterday.

That was not a good idea.

Alright, i had all these witty things thought up to say before i fell asleep and now that i’m up again it’s all gone, EVERY bit of it.

But yeah, i’ve met a lot of people over the internet over the years. like Rebecca . she’s the only one that i still talk to. i can’t remember the others but i’m sure there’s more than just Rebecca. i guess i lost touch with them or after meeting me it was the biggest mistake of their life and they ran for the bushes.

anyways, Lev is super cool and very easy to talk to. but here’s to hoping that i didn’t do anything crazy. i gota start eating things before meeting people. i think i was more nervous than when i took my drivers exam, i didn’t eat anything that day either. but i didn’t also take out my drivers examiner for a drink after.

i’m gonna have some tangerine tea now, because it’s the only thing i can handle right now.

(insert lingo that people who fix things use)

i bought this a while back, from a local boutique that’s really popular. i think this kind of thing didn’t really appeal to their demographic. therefore i got it with a steep discount (not that steep though, because it went on sale more later …! *fist shaking*)

i dont know if you guys ever experience this, but i always want to be someone that i’m not. no this isn’t one of those self-motivating stories, but do things that you really can’t do and is completely outside of your capabilities, not through hard work will this be achieved.

for example: for me, it’s being tough, really really tough, like those bad ass kids that smoke after school. in that situation, this outfit would be extremely appropriate, especially since i’ll definitely need a weapon of choice, i’d use a wrench then! (i was looking for a wrench, my family aren’t the type to fix things, so this is all i could find..)

OR be a dancer, definitely not ballet, preferably some kind of street hip-hop crew? that’d then debut and lead us to international fame (my imagination is really imaginative). Now I will reveal to you, that i have in fact, taken hip-hop dance lessons. Yeah i know, I can’t believe it either. The reason is completely within range of my personality though, I needed hours to complete my International Baccalaureate diploma.

Because I like to stand out, I thought these things would be really cool to be. but at the same time I can’t really do anything cool. So I’m completely stuck in the middle. Then I see girls that are considerate, feminine, cute and just lovely. And I think to myself, okay we can try that but we can’t, because I can’t be that either.

When I was younger, in elementary school, i pleaded to my dad if we could start some kind of mafia or triad, he said no. Even though he went and got a motorcycle himself, pffft.

damn.
so close.

but most of all, i should wear this while fixing cars, which i can’t do either…

edit: by the time this gets posted it will be august 14th in korea, and the kick off of Super Juniors 3rd Asia Tour, Super Show 3. Good luck to all the boys I’m sad that I can’t go to any of the shows but sometimes i have amazing luck, so please, let me bump into super junior at beijing or Narita Airport. PLEASE!
